Which Deloitte route is this?

Summer Vacation Scheme: stages as above; the final stage is virtual and interview only.

Industrial Placement, Graduate, BrightStart: same structure; the final stage is in person at a Deloitte office.

Entry Level Apprenticeship or a shorter programme: look for “OneStop” in your invitation.

Applying in Ireland: the Ireland process differs from the UK one on this page. See the Deloitte Ireland process.

Stage by stage, as Deloitte describes it

Step 1, apply online. About 15 minutes for personal details and education. Deloitte says it assesses applications against the academic requirements in the job description, typically a 2:1 or higher for Graduate and Work Experience programmes, and typically 104 UCAS points from your top 3 A-Levels for BrightStart. The form does not save progress if you leave the page.

Step 2, Immersive Online Assessment. Two parts:

  1. Behavioural Assessment: realistic workplace scenarios where you rank actions by how you would most and least likely approach each, plus questions on your preferred working style.
  2. Cognitive Assessment: numerical and verbal reasoning questions.

Deloitte says there is no overall time limit, but recommends one sitting. Some questions are timed, and it says it will clearly tell you which. After the assessment you receive a feedback report on strengths. Deloitte says it will consider your full application and get back to you within four weeks.

Step 3, Job Simulation. Work-based scenarios with question types that include ranking response options, selecting the most appropriate responses, written responses and video responses. Deloitte says some scenarios may refer to workplace tools like AI, and that no prior AI experience is needed. It says you will have in-assessment practice questions, and receive an email on how you did within four weeks.

Step 4, Final Stage Assessment. In person at a Deloitte office for Graduate, Entry Level Apprentice, Industrial Placement and BrightStart roles. Virtual for the Summer Vacation Scheme. Deloitte says there is mandatory preparation on a topic first. The final stage has a discussion about your topic (typically 30 to 40 minutes) and a skills and motivation interview (usually about 50 minutes). Summer Vacation Scheme applicants complete only the interview.

Step 5, outcome. Deloitte says you are welcome to reapply, but it accepts only one application per intake or academic year (September to August).

How to prepare, in proportion

  • Deloitte’s Candidate Zone, linked from its page, has practice assessments and tips. Start there.
  • Deloitte’s own tip for the ranking questions is to go with your gut instinct and not to second-guess what it might be looking for.
  • Use a personal email address and complete the form in one session, as Deloitte advises.
  • Check your spam folder and add noreplyrecruitment@deloitte.com to your allow list, as Deloitte suggests.

After the invite

Check deadlines and instructions in your email, and keep your candidate ID safe. Deloitte says you need it each time you get in touch. See what to do first when a test invite email arrives.

Prep options

Deloitte’s page does not name a test publisher, so we do not describe your Deloitte tests as any particular publisher’s. See how we check.

FAQ

Is the Deloitte assessment timed? Per Deloitte, there is no overall limit, but some questions are timed and you will be told which.

What is the cognitive assessment? Deloitte says numerical and verbal reasoning questions.

Is there feedback? Deloitte says you receive feedback reports after the Immersive Online Assessment and the Job Simulation.

Can I reapply? Per Deloitte, one application per intake or academic year.

What if I need an adjustment? Deloitte has a full reasonable adjustments process. The application form has a section where you can say you would like to discuss support needs, and you do not need a formal diagnosis or proof. Deloitte asks you to say what you need at each stage, using a Reasonable Adjustments form linked in the invite email for that stage, and to ask as early as possible because arrangements made too close to your assessment may not be ready in time. For the online assessment, examples include extra time, alternative formats for situational judgement questions and additional practice questions. For video interviews, examples include extended preparation and response time, the option not to see yourself on screen and British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters. For in-person assessments, examples include accessible venues, quiet spaces for breaks and the option to visit the office in advance. Deloitte is accredited under the UK government’s Disability Confident Scheme, and says anything you share is confidential and used only to put your adjustments in place (Deloitte, read 17 October 2026). See how to ask for extra time and other accommodations.
