A test publisher builds and sells an assessment. An employer picks one and sends you the link. So the test you take is the employer’s choice, and the employer decides how the result is used. This page covers seven publishers and a checklist for working out which test is yours.
Country: English-language publisher pages. Processes differ by country and role. Check your invite.

Test publishers
Wonderlic
Wonderlic Select, formerly called Wonscore, has three sections: a timed cognitive section and two untimed sections on motivation and personality. Wonderlic says the cognitive section has 50 questions in 12 minutes, that test takers are not expected to finish them all, and that the whole assessment takes about 35 minutes on average. Calculator: not allowed. Source: Wonderlic candidate FAQ, read October 17, 2026. Read our Wonderlic guide or try the free practice test.
CCAT (Criteria)
The Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test measures problem solving and learning. Criteria says it has 50 questions and gives you 15 minutes, with no calculator, and that fewer than 1% of candidates answer all 50. Question types, per Criteria: verbal, math and logic, and spatial reasoning. Source: Criteria candidate page, read October 17, 2026. Read our CCAT guide or try the free practice test.
SHL
SHL makes many assessments, and which ones you get is your employer’s choice. SHL’s candidate pages let you take practice tests and view example questions. SHL notes that a practice test may not match the difficulty of the test you are asked to take. Sources: SHL Direct and SHL practice tests, read October 18, 2026. Read our SHL guide.
Watson Glaser (Pearson TalentLens)
The Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal has 40 items and is timed at “30 to 40 mins”, per Pearson TalentLens. Pearson describes it as delivered online with item-banked questions. Its skill areas include drawing inferences and recognizing assumptions. Source: Pearson TalentLens Watson-Glaser page, read October 18, 2026. Read our Watson Glaser guide.
Predictive Index
“The Predictive Index test” can mean two different assessments. The PI Cognitive Assessment has 50 questions in 12 minutes, per PI. The PI Behavioral Assessment is untimed and free-choice, and PI says it takes about 6 minutes. Check your invitation to see which one you have. Sources: PI Cognitive Assessment and PI Behavioral Assessment, read October 18, 2026. Read our Predictive Index guide.
Korn Ferry
Korn Ferry’s candidate guide offers practice assessments for verbal, numerical, logical and checking abilities. “Korn Ferry assessment” can mean several different tests, so your invitation says which one you have. Saville Assessment
Saville points candidates to its platform, where you can look over the technical requirements, see the length of each part and try practice questions that match your own assessments. Its public practice tests page lets you repeat questions as often as you like, with onscreen feedback, to get used to the format and the strict timing. Your invitation names the test you will take.
By skill
Tests from many publishers ask for the same few skills. Our free practice sets cover three of them. Each one is original and not a predictor of any real result.
- Numerical reasoning: percentages, ratios, tables and charts. Read the explainer.
- Verbal reasoning: short passages and word relationships. Read the explainer.
- Logical reasoning: number and letter patterns. Read the explainer.
Which test am I taking?
Work through these in order and stop when you have a name.
- Open the invitation email and note who sent it. It may come from the employer or from the publisher on its behalf.
- Look for the test name in the subject line or the first paragraph. Many invites say “assessment” without a brand.
- Check the link or the page you land on for a publisher name or logo.
- If you still have no name, ask the recruiter: “Which assessment will I take, and how long does it run?”
- Once you have a name, look for it above, or for your employer in our employer guides.
Tick these off as you go. Ticks reset when you leave the page.

What these pages do not say
Wonderlic says there is no passing or failing grade. Criteria publishes no pass mark and says the employer decides. For the other publishers listed, we found no pass mark on the pages we read. Ask your recruiter.
