Amazon online assessment and interview: what Amazon says about its process
Amazon’s hiring steps change a lot between a warehouse job, a product manager role and a software engineer role. This page gives you the map: the stages Amazon lists, what it says about assessments, and a card for each role page we have, so you can go straight to yours.
Country and source: this page uses Amazon’s English-language careers pages on amazon.jobs. Amazon says the application process is customized by role and location, and that Customer Service Associate roles in India differ. Processes differ by country and role. Check your invite.

Each card gives one fact from that role’s page, read on October 17, 2026. Your invitation is the only list of steps that counts for you.

Customer Service Associate roles
Amazon says the online application starts with questions and assessments and takes about an hour. It recommends a quiet place and headphones. Per Amazon, the steps include profile creation, screening questions, a work style assessment, a virtual job simulation, and a technical assessment for tech positions.
- Work style assessment: typically 10 to 25 minutes on this guide. Amazon’s advice is not to overthink or spend too long on any one question.
- Customer Service job simulation: virtual tasks related to the position, typically 20 minutes to an hour.
- After the first stage: next steps differ by region and may include a language assessment, a virtual recruitment session, a phone screening or an internet speed test.
- Amazon says you do not need to repeat the assessment section if you took it in the last three months. Never close a window with the red "X", because you will have to start over.

What Amazon does not say
On the pages we read, Amazon does not give:
- pass marks or score weights
- official sample answers
- how many candidates move on
- a rule on calculators (check your invitation)
If one of these matters to you, ask your recruiter rather than trusting a third-party number.
The work style assessment in short
Amazon says it is centered on its culture and Leadership Principles, and suggests thinking about how you have applied them in past jobs. Its advice is not to overthink. Answer as you really work, and read the principles on Amazon’s Leadership Principles page. We do not publish answer patterns. For the wider picture see personality assessments: can you prepare?
After the invite
Check the deadline, device advice and any time limits in your email. If you need an accommodation, Amazon’s accommodations page says to select the country you are applying in. See also Got an assessment invite? and our assessment accommodations guide.
Prep options
We list no provider here because Amazon names none. Amazon’s own pages are the place to start. For how we look at paid options elsewhere on Prepti, see how we check.
